About Me

As a clinical health psychologist, I bring over 15 years of experience to serve my patients in Ontario and California with issues related to their mental and physical health. Utilizing a bio-psycho-social lens, I use advanced applications of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TEAM-CBT), a robust and evidence-based treatment modality to help with conditions such as chronic mood and health problems, trauma-related concerns, challenges with a variety of addictions, issues pertaining to women's health, psychosocial concerns pertaining to minorities and new comers, and general mental/social/physical health. I provide my therapy services in English and Farsi (Iranian immigrants to Ontario and California) both in person and on Zoom. My patients can expect an empathic and respectful space to discuss their concerns, and to receive a structured and organized course of treatment, often in as short a time as possible. Weekly therapy homework and a tailor-made treatment program can be expected when you team up with me.
I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a second evidence-based and robust therapy approach, in which I teach mindfulness and self-compassion techniques to my patients to aid in overcoming their symptoms of anxiety and depression.
I received my Doctorate degree in clinical health psychology from California School of Professional Psychology in 2003. I have received my pre-doctoral residency at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF) in Psychosocial Medicine, and my post-doctoral fellowship in Chronic Pain Management from Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Francisco, California. I studied under the mentorship of Dr David Burns, M.D for my level 4 certification in TEAM-CBT at Stanford University in Palo-Alto California. I live with my family half time in Toronto, Canada, and half time in San Francisco, California. My hobbies include hiking, cooking, reading, beach days, and studying Enneagram Personality Types.
