Eligibility
Those registered with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate holding a Certificate Authorizing Autonomous or Interim Practice and no longer meeting the criteria for membership in the Early Career (ECP/ECPA) category.

Eligibility
First-time OPA members who are actively registered with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate holding a Certificate Authorizing Autonomous or Interim Practice, and who do not meet the criteria for membership in the Early Career category.

Eligibility
Applicants/OPA members who are also members of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or Ottawa Academy of Psychology (OAP).
Applicants must be registered with CPBAO as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate holding a Certificate Authorizing Autonomous or Interim Practice and no longer meet the criteria for membership in the Early Career category.

Eligibility
Applicants must practice in Ontario, hold at least a Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc) in Psychology, or an equivalent degree, and meet one of the following criteria:
- Be employed by, or work under the supervision of, a Psychologist or Psychological Associate; or
- Hold certification or licensure from a College or Board of a profession whose members work collaboratively with Psychologists or Psychological Associates.

Eligibility
Applicants must be actively registered as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate in a Canadian province or territory other than Ontario.
Proof of current registration is required.

Eligibility
Applicants must hold a Certificate of Registration authorizing interim or autonomous practice as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate from the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
Members may remain in this category for up to two years following registration under interim or autonomous practice.

Who can apply?
Applicants must hold a Certificate of Registration authorizing supervised practice as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate from the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).

Who can apply?
Available to individuals who are retired or currently on parental or disability leave.
A change in registration status with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) may be required.

$50 / year
Who can apply?
Available to individuals enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate psychology program at a Canadian or international university. This membership category is not available to registered Psychologists or Psychological Associates.
Applicants must provide proof of enrollment, such as a letter of admission or an official/unofficial transcript. Proof of enrollment must be submitted to [email protected] after completing your application.

If you work with a school-aged child and adolescent population, please consider joining OPA’s Section on Psychology in Education (SecPE). SecPE members currently include psychology practitioners in School Boards, private practice, community agencies, and universities, as well as psychology graduate students.

What’s Included?
Membership in SecPE provides the OPA member with a discounted registration to our annual Dorothy Hill Symposium. As well, all are welcome to attend, our SecPE Council meetings (currently by videoconference) 3 times a year.
Ontario Psychological Association memberships run from December 1 to November 30 of the following year. Members who have not renewed by November 30 have until January 30 to renew without penalty. A $50 late fee will be applied to memberships remaining unpaid after January 30. Memberships not renewed by February 15 will be cancelled and all membership benefits will cease.
- Membership year: December 1 – November 30
- Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Renewals are not prorated. Prorating is available only to new members joining during the membership year.
If you have purchased Professional Liability & Commercial General Liability insurance through the CPA/CPAP Member Liability Insurance Program, brokered by BMS Canada, you must maintain active, continuous membership in CPA and/or a participating CPAP provincial or territorial association for the entire term of your policy. BMS Canada has advised that a lapse in required membership at any point during the policy period will render the insurance policy null and void.
