About Me
Life is not a walk in the park, and with all its challenges, there come times when we need some professional support as we seek to surmount or walk through barriers. It takes a lot of courage to not only acknowledge that we need help to cope with life’s challenges, but to take the steps necessary to access such help. This is not weakness. It is courage.
After serving as a certified teacher of French and Spanish for over 1.5 decades. I finally realized that my heart was wrapped up in wanting to help students cope with the numerous challenges they faced. I completed my Master’s degree and went on to complete my PhD in Michigan.
I have been a registered psychologist for more than 2.5 decades. I have the honour of being the first black psychologist employed by the Counselling & Development Centre at York University in 1998,
providing services to the student population. In the community, I have also provided services to individuals ranging from high school to older adults with varying presenting problems. I have had the honour of helping clients of minority groups learn how to thrive despite prejudice and other social barriers.
I work with individuals and couples to help them experience a reduction in the intensity of their concerns, using a variety of approaches including CBT, EFT, etc.
