About Me

I am a registered clinical psychologist providing assessment, consultation, and treatment to children, adolescents, and parents. I am passionate about supporting families in their well-being through an evidence-based and individualized approach. My approach with my clients is one of compassion and authenticity to develop a trusting relationship and a safe space, essential elements for any therapeutic progress.

A bit about my education: I obtained my Doctorate Degree in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University and my post-doctorate research was at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. I have worked in a range of hospital and community mental health settings. Knowledge translation is a passion for me and I regularly consult with hospitals and community teams, co-author publications on child and youth relationships and mental health, as well as lecture at York University.

As a scientist-practitioner, my work is guided by evidence-based methods. Thus, my therapeutic work integrates cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and play therapy. In providing a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space, I tailor my therapeutic modalities to each individual client to help them reach their goals and live in line with their values. By learning about each client’s strengths and relative difficulties, I am able to support mental health by building on the clients’ strengths.

In addition to therapy and parent consultations, I have extensive experience conducting comprehensive psycho-educational, developmental, gifted, attentional, and socio-emotional assessments. I also have a special interest in mindfulness and integrating this approach into treatment. I am pleased to offer supervision to early-career clinicians.
