About Me

Dr. Sol Pound, Ph.D., is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to work with children, teens, and adults. After studying at the University of Toronto, Dr. Pound obtained a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. With over 10 years of experience in hospitals, community centers, schools, and private practices, Dr. Pound is the clinic director at MindSteps Psychology and an adjunct faculty supervisor at the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Pound specializes in treating mental health issues in children, adolescents, and young adults. Her expertise includes treating anxiety, OCD, depression, emotional and behavior regulation issues, relationship issues, low self-esteem, stress, and executive function problems.

Dr. Pound uses an integrated and collaborative therapeutic approach, drawing from different evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), and EFT (emotion-focused therapy) to meet the unique needs of each client. She has a keen interest in supporting caregivers of children with mental health issues, integrating Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) with attachment theory, positive parenting strategies, and approaches based on brain development research. She also provides family therapy for teens and their family, supervised by a psychologist specializing in family work.

Additionally, Dr. Pound offers her services in Spanish to assist the Spanish-speaking community.
