About Me

I am a registered Psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns. In addition, I teach in university, train psychology graduate interns and contribute to the field of psychotherapy. Grounded in the humanistic and experiential therapies, building on strengths and resiliency, while embracing an integrated lens to meet clients’ needs, my approach to psychotherapy/counselling is compassionate, collaborative and committed to the application of evidenced-based interventions.

Therapeutic interventions I use include: Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for depression and self-exploration/life transitions and for grief & loss; CBT for anxiety and those concerns maintained by locked-in unhelpful thinking; EFCT & the Gottman Method for relationship problems; Eye-Movement Desensitization (EMDR) for both single-event & historical trauma.

Dr. Hardtke has expanded her practice and is available in September 2025 to take on new individual and couple clients.
