About Me

All of us have times in our lives when we could use some extra support and guidance. Working on your mental health can feel daunting and scary. It's great that you have the courage to take this step.

I'm a registered psychologist with over 22 years of clinical experience - offering individual therapy, couples therapy, personal coaching, and psychodiagnostic assessments. I have a Ph.D. and two Masters degrees from The University of Toronto, along with a Bachelors degree from The University of Waterloo. I have worked in a number of settings including private practice, hospitals, and universities.

My approach to therapy is a combination of:
1) Teaching practical strategies for reducing depressive and anxious symptoms (CBT); and
2) A gradual, compassionate exploration and resolving of deeper self-doubts, fears, emotional triggers, and traumas.

I was one of the CBT therapists in a treatment outcome study funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. This was conducted at The York University Anxiety Research Clinic. Clients had a primary diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), along with other diagnoses such as depression, social anxiety, and panic disorder. The average success rate for treating GAD in the literature is around 50%. In this research study, my success rate at treating GAD was 90% and that held true even as measured one-year post-treatment.

I also do virtual psychodiagnostic assessments of ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD.

I offer telephone and in-person sessions to support and guide you through this challenging time. I look forward to speaking with you!
