About Me

As a therapist, I work with individuals and couples who feel like they are stuck - stuck in feelings of depression, and anxiety, or whose lives feel governed by past hurts or emotional injuries. Using Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), from a trauma-informed perspective I work with clients to shift from coping with symptoms to healing the underlying feelings that caused the symptoms in the first place.

I work from a place of respect for each client’s lived experience, a focus on the intersecting identities that each person brings to their successes and challenges, acknowledgement and respect for the impact of systemic oppression on personal development and lived experience, and knowledge that, once safe environments have been created, neuroplasticity and supportive relationships allow us to heal from past hurts.

I am a certified EFT therapist, supervisor, and trainer with the International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy with over 20 years of experience related to psychotherapy and psychological practice.

On a personal front, I identify as a queer woman, a proud mom to my teenage son, and happy partner to my wife of 20+ years. I grew up in a predominantly Scottish/Irish rural farming community, moving to Toronto in early adulthood. I have had an opportunity to live abroad (Switzerland in the ‘90s), and I love physical movement!
