An Invitation for Membership with the OPA

On behalf of the Ontario Psychological Association’s Board of Directors, please accept our best wishes and our invitation to you to join our community of professional psychologists by becoming a member of the OPA. The OPA is recognized as the provincial organization speaking on behalf of Ontario psychologists in their efforts to develop, maintain, and implement practice standards and strongly advocates for enhanced public access to the high quality services offered by professional psychologists. The Association also provides mechanisms which allow you to interact with other psychologists to keep abreast of professional and scientific issues, as well as to maintain relationships with friends and colleagues of similar interests.

OPA’s sections, task forces, and committees continue to work diligently to ensure public access to the benefits of psychological services for the residents of Ontario. Efforts include consultations with various provincial ministries whose activities affect the practice of psychology; as well as responding to proposals regarding policies and legislation that impact the profession (e.g., HPRAC, PHIPA). The ongoing work of the Ethics Committee is recognized internationally for its significant contribution to the field.
