Full Time ‑ Psychologist/Psychological Associate

Reporting to the Manager Adult Mental Health Services, the Psychologist/Psychological Associate will be responsible for providing a full scope of psychological services to clients with acute and chronic psychiatric illness within an acute mental health inpatient unit. The Psychologist/Psychological Associate will conduct and/or supervise psychological assessments and provide individual and group psychological treatment within an adult population. Treatment focus will be brief models of therapy. The incumbent will also provide consultation to other members of the team as required and contribute to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre’s commitment to research and academics including providing clinical supervision to learners.

Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with authorized practice in Clinical Psychology with Adults. Preference would be given to those authorized to practice in additional areas.

In this role you will provide leadership in the development, management and delivery of clinical services
geared to the training needs of graduate students as they progress through their graduate training in
clinical and clinical-development psychology and; risk and financial management of the services these
students will be delivering to the general public. Specifically, you will be responsible for coordinating
intake training and delivery, developing and evaluating training experiences for approximately 25-30
graduate students on an annual basis, supervising a smaller cadre of students and providing direct
clinical services to clientele with more serious mental health concerns. The latter two responsibilities are
important revenue streams for the clinic and your performance will be tied to meeting revenue generation
targets from these services. You will be responsible for the oversight and human resource management
of administrative and supervisory personnel within the clinic and development and management of
research initiatives. As a member of the clinic's leadership team, you will work collaboratively with key
stakeholders and the Director in the development and implementation of the clinic's strategic plan,
development and management of the clinic's continuing education program, and financial management of
clinic's annual budget.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with declared
competency in assessment and intervention services across the lifespan with children, youth and adults.
In addition, you will bring a minimum of 10 years recent relevant clinical experience post registration with
children, youth and adults, with particular expertise in clinical supervision, the assessment of learning
disabilities, and the provision of therapy with a clearly defined integrative framework.

The Centre for Psychology and Emotional Health is accepting part-time and full-time positions for Psychologists, Psychological Associates, Psychologists eligible for Supervised Practice, and other registered therapists who provide evidence-based treatments. We are seeking associates who provide therapy to adult and/or adolescent populations (individuals, couples, families, groups) who can offer some evening or weekend hours. There is a strong need for EFT couple’s therapists; we have developed an EFT model to help couples resolve emotional injuries and provide training.
We offer a supportive, collaborative, and warm work environment. We also offer: weekly rounds, workshops, consultation groups; ongoing training and opportunities for professional growth; competitive compensation; and opportunities to conduct research, provide supervision, and lead or co-lead groups.
